We are currently looking to fill the following positions:
Javascript Engineer
We are looking for strong object-oriented JavaScript developers to
work on exciting new ideas for web applications/widgets focused on
weather (one of the largest datasets you can get!), and to help build
creative solutions to the type of hard UI problems associated with
making sophisticated concepts intuitive and accessible to end users.
Required background:
- Expertise writing high-quality object-oriented JavaScript
- 2+ years webapp development experience
- Strong knowledge of HTML/CSS/XML
- Experience with popular JS libraries (e.g. jquery, prototype)
- Some Java knowledge preferred
- Flash experience a plus
- Contributions to open source JS projects/libraries a strong plus
- Computer Science or similar technical background

Sales Manager
Candidates will use their experience working in the insurance or financial services industry to help medium and large businesses analyze and understand how the weather impacts their financials and then sell them on the value of managing their weather risk by buying contracts from WeatherBill.
Who you are:
- An analytical, personable, and talented sales leader who wants to be involved in a challenging and world-changing opportunity
- Self-motivated and eager to sell a new financial product that can help businesses protect themselves from the financial impact of bad weather
- A quantitative-minded person with a solid understanding of finance and risk management/hedging. You should be comfortable conversing with CFOs and Controllers
- Someone with a breadth of experience working in or selling to one of the following industries: Construction, agribusiness, specialty insurance, financial services, or travel and leisure
- An outgoing, high energy optimist with a proven ability to close sales (3+ years of experience) and grow revenue.
- Experience selling new products into new markets is a big plus
What you’d do:
- Change the world of financial risk management by making companies aware of unique products that allow them to manage the financial risks associated with ‘bad’ weather
- Consult with businesses and help them analyze their weather risk, using WeatherBill’s unique tools and services

Software Engineer
Who you are:

- 5+ years experience in software engineering development in Java/C++ (at least 2 years recent Java)

- Experience designing and developing large scale, fault-tolerant and high performance distributed applications

User Experience Engineer

- Must be a superstar in at least one of the following areas: UI design from concept to photoshop mocks, Full html/css implementation of UI mocks, Building of sophisticated javascript/ajax apps and widgets
- Strong recent college graduates are welcome (but we’ll need examples of your work and/or side projects)
