District Sales Manager, Weather-Peril Crop Insurance
WeatherBill seeks four driven and entrepreneurial District Sales Manager for the four districts of: 1) Kansas, Nebraska, Minnesota, North Dakota & South Dakota, 2) Wisconsin, Michigan and Ohio, 3) Florida, Georgia, Alabama and 4) Texas.
The District Sales Manager position is responsible for developing and implementing strategic and tactical plans for the WeatherBill Agricultural business within their region. The strategic plan focuses on development of the agency force, including recruiting, sales training, and overall agency placement. The plan focuses on generating premium from the sale of WeatherBill's innovative and unique weather insurance products. The position requires intensive interaction with appointed and prospective channel partners, primarily crop insurance agencies.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned sales executive with a proven track record of sales management experience in a channel-oriented Agriculture sales organization.
The District Sales Manager position offers significant responsibility and financial upside.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a plan that delivers premium growth in alignment with Weatherbill objectives.
- Develop a highly effective agency network by initiating and supporting agent strategic development activities.
- Help plan and direct new products and programs.
- Main point of contact for agent questions, training and education.
- Develop new business by engaging new agents.
- Required travel up to 75% including overnight stays.
- Conduct sales presentations to agents in small or large forums on WeatherBill products and related agricultural subjects.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of production agriculture.
- Strong selling, relationship and consultation skills.
- Solid understanding of the principles of risk management.
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Ideally, extensive experience managing insurance agency relationships and developing agency partner programs.
- Strong computer and internet knowledge. Experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce a plus.
- Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Agri-Business or an Agricultural Sciences discipline.
- Ideally, 5 or more years experience in sales positions in a channel sales oriented Agriculture company, preferably crop insurance.
- Ideally, well connected with a solid rolodex of crop insurance agents and key growers in your respective market(s).

Senior Product Manager
We seek a brilliant, creative product manager who will help WeatherBill innovate in providing online weather insurance products to consumer markets including Travel, Outdoor Events, and Energy. The ideal candidate has significant experience with online consumer purchase behavior, is comfortable working in a data-driven environment, and has experience introducing new consumer services to market, ideally through major channel partnerships and online direct marketing.
What you will do:
- Hold primary ownership for the delivery and success of weather insurance products for new consumer markets
- Conduct market discovery & validation for new products and servicesthrough primary research and modeling
- Define and prioritize product features
- Work closely with channel partners, internal sales ops and engineering team to define product delivery requirements
- In-depth product management and product marketing activities, including:
- market sizing/segmentation and prioritzation
- defining product requirements
- cross-functional team leadership to coordinate delivery and launch of new features
- lead market testing efforts to drive feature iteration and optimize customer satisfaction and business metrics
- support sales and marketing, as necessary, with feature updates and changes
Your experience and qualities:
- Driven and talented. You want to work on creating intellectually challenging and innovative products that will meaningfully change the way millions of people manage risk
- Strong foundation (2+ years) in consumer-oriented, web-based technology
- College degree from top-tier university, ideally in Computer Science
- Ideally, experienced using Agile to develop Internet products and technologies; comfortable with SCRUM and iterative development
- Well-developed leadership, management, and strategic-thinking skills
- A combination of the fast, fluid and flexible skills of a proactive, results-oriented entrepreneur, and the seasoned, business maturity of a person who understands the long-term value of “soft issues” like culture
- Data-driven and metrics oriented. Ideally, you’ve had experience with multivariate testing and online marketing campaigns
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience with financial services or insurance/risk management products a plus

Software QA Intern
WeatherBill is looking for a superstar Software QA Engineer Intern to help us build our groundbreaking weather-risk related online financial products and services. Candidates will use their strong software QA/analytical skills, attention to detail, and personal drive to allow us to keep up our rapid pace of innovation and maintain leadership in our new and fast-growing industry.
Who You Are:
- An ambitious, driven, and talented individual who wants to be part of something novel and ambitious.
- Excellent knowledge of internet technologies.
- Detail oriented, organized, methodical and a good listener/communicator.
- Good scripting skills in Python and Shell.
- Good knowledge of testing web applications, particularly with tools like Selenium.

- Ideal candidates will have experience with Ruby, Rspec, Python, and Javascript, and be familiar with XML or JSON based web APIs
- Proficient in a Unix/Linux environment.
