Can you measure the weather in my field?
WeatherBill determines payout based on weather measured at government-managed weather stations, or using universal rain gauge data that measures rainfall in 12x12 mile grids. Many locations are not available online, so contact us at 888-924-7475 to determine the best measurement method for your risk.Is this a substitute for Crop Insurance?
WeatherBill is not insurance, nor is it a substitute. WeatherBill is designed to payout based on weather, not human assessment. This enables WeatherBill to cover previously unmanageable risks. We can also cover specialty crops which insurance can’t cover. Weather Coverage can be utilized with Crop Insurance to enhance your risk management.Do you cover hourly freeze risk?
We do offer hourly freeze protection, but not online. Give us a call and we’ll create hourly freeze coverage for you offline.Do you cover hail risk?
Not at this time. Hail typically requires human assessment because of the unique damage it causes. Hail damage is based on the impact of the hail stones, something that can’t be measured at a weather station.Does a payout from WeatherBill influence any crop insurance payments I may qualify for at the same time?
Many insurance products first check to see if any other insurance product has paid you to offset your losses. If so, that payment is deducted from any payment you receive from their policy. With WeatherBill, this isn't the case. There is no interaction between our payouts and payouts from any other insurance policies. What are some examples of WeatherBill coverage in the Agriculture Industry?
