What is the WeatherBill Pro Partner Program?
The WeatherBill Pro Partner Program was designed for companies that work
or interact with weather sensitive businesses. If you work with companies
affected by the weather, WeatherBill will pay you a commission for weather
coverage purchased by those companies through the WeatherBill website.
WeatherBill Pro provides an easy to use web interface for managing clients
and contracts. You can create and modify client details, quote coverage,
assign contracts to clients for purchase, and view reports of the
commissions your company has earned.
What products and services does WeatherBill offer?
WeatherBill is the only service to offer businesses weather coverage they
can design and price in minutes. Best of all, there is no paperwork,
claims process, proof of loss or waiting period for payment - everything
is handled online and automatically. For the first time, companies can
easily and affordably protect their revenue and control costs due to bad
weather.
Is WeatherBill selling insurance?
No. WeatherBill provides simplified, customizable weather coverage that is
safe and reliable like insurance, but without the paperwork, claims
process, proof of loss or waiting for payment.
Does WeatherBill have a credit rating? Are payments guaranteed?
WeatherBill has not been rated by a credit authority. However, we
guarantee payments to our counterparties through a risk capital agreement
with Nephila Capital. Nephila, a leading fund manager with over US$2
billion under management, provides the risk capacity and collateral to
cover all the weather contracts sold by WeatherBill.
How does the WeatherBill Pro Partner Program benefit me?
The WeatherBill Pro Partner program allows you to introduce an
unlimited number of companies to the unique weather coverage provided by
WeatherBill. You are paid a percentage of all premiums collected from
those companies. In addition to viewing details of companies you have
introduced to WeatherBill in real-time via WeatherBill Pro, WeatherBill
will provide you with quarterly payments and statements of referral
activity. (If receiving commission fees from WeatherBill would present a
conflict of interest for your company, you can still participate as a
WeatherBill Pro Partner without commissions or you can rebate commissions
back to your clients.)
WeatherBill also enables you to provide a valuable service to your clients
by introducing them to a new and unique way to get weather protection.
Linking your clients to our unique weather coverage products, weather
research and news can differentiate you from competition while enhancing
your relationships.

What level of involvement is required for me to be a WeatherBill Pro Partner?
WeatherBill Pro Partners can simply register clients with WeatherBill and
allow them to quote and purchase contracts on their own. They can also
choose to fully manage clients, quoting coverage for them, and
facilitating their purchase of coverage. Partners will receive a
percentage of all premiums collected from their clients. Some WeatherBill
Pro Partners may also want to add Weather Risk Analysis to the services
they perform for their clients, in which case WeatherBill can help with
historical weather data and analysis of weather impacts on financial
performance.

What is an agency?
An agency is a company that has registered as a WeatherBill Pro Partner.
Agencies often have numerous individual employee ‘agents’ but a company
that has only one person who will be interacting with WeatherBill Pro will
have only one agent account. Each agency has one agency user, which is the
only account that can create new agents and view agent commissions. Agency
users can also perform all actions that an agent user can.
What is an agent?
An agent is an employee of an agency who, among other things, has the
ability to create and manage client accounts, quote coverage, and
facilitate placing orders for their fully-managed clients.
What is the difference between fully-managed and self-service clients?
A fully-managed client is one that does not interact directly with the
WeatherBill website. For fully-managed clients, the agent creates and
delivers coverage quotes in hard copy or through means other than the
WeatherBill website. Fully-managed clients do not log into the WeatherBill
website. All documents for fully-managed clients are signed in hard copy
and uploaded by the agent to the client’s account. Self-service clients
can log into the WeatherBill website and must complete their weather
coverage purchases electronically.
When an agent creates a new client, they choose whether to make them
fully-managed or self-service, depending on whether they want the client
to have direct access to WeatherBill, or if they prefer to manage all
aspects of the client’s weather coverage.
What is the process for self-service clients to purchase weather coverage?
Self-service clients must purchase coverage through the WeatherBill web
interface. The agent for the client will create quotes through WeatherBill
Pro that gives the client a discounted rate for coverage. The agent then
assigns quotes to the client account and informs the client that the quote
has been passed to their account. The client can then see the quote and
click to purchase the contract. The commission for the purchased contract
will appear in the relevant agency account within 5 business days.
Self-service clients can also create their own quotes and purchase them
without the agent having to be directly involved. The agent still receives
their commission for these independently quoted and purchased contracts.
What is the process for fully-managed clients to purchase contracts?
Fully-managed clients always purchase coverage via their agent. As with
self-service clients, the agent will create the discounted coverage quote
through the WeatherBill Pro system. The agent will then assign this quote
to the relevant client account and print a hard copy of the contract. This
hard copy of the contract must be signed by the client. Once the contract
is signed, the agent will upload the contract via WeatherBill Pro and the
client will pay for the coverage via check, wire transfer or credit card.
Upon receiving payment, WeatherBill will validate that all necessary
documents have been uploaded to WeatherBill Pro to complete the purchase,
and will then approve the contract. Commissions will appear in the
relevant agency account within 5 business days.
How do I create agents?
Agents are created by the Agency user. The Agency user will log in to the
Agency account at www.weatherbill.com/pro and select ‘Create Agent’. All
that is required to create an agent account is to specify the agents name
and e-mail address. The agent will then receive an automated e-mail from
WeatherBill that will activate their account.
Can Agents see the commission they earn through WeatherBill Pro?
All commissions earned through the WeatherBill Pro Partner program flow up to the agency level. Individual agents can see reports of the contracts they have sold, but will not see corresponding commissions for themselves or other agents.
