daily HDDs. A HDD is calculated on a daily basis as the number of degrees
that the daily temperature falls below a specified reference value. If the
daily temperature is above the reference value, the HDD for that day is 0.
Description
The Cooling Degree Day Contract will pay out a fixed amount for every Cooling
Degree Day (CDD) above a specified threshold, calculated by adding up
daily CDDs. A CDD is calculated on a daily basis as the number of degrees
that the daily temperature is above a specified reference value. If the
daily temperature falls below the reference value, the CDD for that day is 0.
Description
A Custom Contract allows you to create a Weather Contract using your
own structure. Create a Weather Index using an operation on daily
temperature/precipitation/snowfall measurements and any payout method.
A Custom Contract can generate thousands of possible weather contract
types, meeting the needs of any buyer.
